Mission & Evangelism

VISION

Starting with two simple events in 2011, the Mission and Evangelism ministry’s activities have since played a pivotal role in church life and outreach. The annual events are based on the general theme: To Know Christ and Make Him Known.

ACTIVITIES

Building bridges & Partnering

We continue to partner with other churches and Christian organisations to serve together.  Organisations we’ve partnered with include House of Hope, Youth With a Mission, besides with our own Anglican network.

Mission Month

August is the month the church focuses on missions and we usually invite guest speakers from different ministries. Last year, we had Ps Swee Bee on the Orang Asli Ministries, Ps Edward Lim from Gateway Church on their Gateway Sport Network, and Ps Boey Hong Wah from Pusat Kebajikan Kalvari Johor on their homes for the children, senior citizens, physically challenged, single mothers, autistics and down syndrome children and drug addicts.

Fundraising

Fundraising is another way we reach out, for the needy in our community. In 2013, within the church, our Save-a-thon raised over RM4,000 which were then given to different projects and people, as God led. In 2013, one of our members led a project to raise RM400,000 for House of Hope, through a Dolci Voci concert held at Wawasan Open University.

Extraordinary Projects

In September 13-16, 2013, the church was the host venue and joint organizer of Penang’s first 84-hour Bible Reading Marathon spearheaded by Lighthouse Watchmen Prayer Network. Over 300 people took part in the event, held in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

Alpha

Alpha is a 15-session course, where anyone who wants to find out more Jesus and the bible can come to weekly sessions to study and discuss issues. It’s conducted within an hour, with a short video teaching session, and then a discussion period. Email us here (insert email) to find out when and where are current Alpha sessions.
